Summer Rooftop Live Music at Flats on D

Creating the Soundtrack for a Summer Resident Event

For a recent summer resident event at Flats on D in Boston, So Good Sessions brought Ben & Teresa, a vocals and keys duo, to complement a rooftop BBQ and an evening of food, conversation, and community.

The goal wasn't to turn the gathering into a concert. Instead, we wanted the live music to become part of the larger experience—bringing warmth and energy to the rooftop while residents ate, socialized, and enjoyed the outdoor amenity space together.

Live Music That Fits the Event

The right entertainment isn't just about choosing a musical genre. We consider how guests will use the space, what else is happening during the event, and the kind of atmosphere the property wants to create.

For Flats on D, Ben & Teresa's vocals and keys configuration provided enough musical presence to bring the rooftop to life while still allowing conversation and connection to happen naturally around them.

Music as Part of the Larger Experience

Throughout the evening, residents gathered around tables, enjoyed food from the grill, caught up with neighbors, and spent time together outdoors.

The music wasn't separate from those moments—it helped create the atmosphere around them.

That's one of our favorite ways to incorporate live music into residential events. Entertainment doesn't always need to command everyone's attention to make an impact. Sometimes its role is to make the entire space feel more welcoming, lively, and memorable.

Creating Memorable Resident Experiences

From rooftop BBQs and resident appreciation events to happy hours, holiday celebrations, and recurring music series, So Good Sessions curates live entertainment around each property's audience, setting, and event goals.

We handle artist curation and event coordination so property teams can focus on everything else that goes into creating a great resident experience.
